Day 8, the evening post

I have nothing but good news to share tonight!

Justin had been struggling with some pretty violent episodes of vomiting, not necessarily from nausea, but from feeling very full, burping, and indigestion. Of course it takes awhile for all the bowels to wake up and all his pieces parts to start working together again, so this is not uncommon by any stretch. To help combat this, the doctors added Reglan to his regiment and it has helped significantly. Not only does this medicine encourage the stomach to function better, but duals as an anti-nausea aid. No vomiting today!

With a more settled stomach Justin has been able to eat more. He has had some rice with applesauce, mashed potatoes, and a couple pieces of banana. All tolerated well.

Probably the best news, from Justin’s perspective, is that his anticoagulation intensity has reached the therapeutic range. Bottom line… he’s back down to only one blood draw per day.

Understandably, Justin is still rather uncomfortable. Even with the Oxycodone. I know he’s anxious to get up and moving… as being sedentary has never been part of his life. I think he’s frustrated, but I’m certain he’ll be back at it in good time.

Feels good to have him by my side!

Here’s to a good night’s sleep! Christina
