When losing is winning

Justin is shedding tubes like crazy!

By the time I arrived, the pain team had already turned off his epidural and given him oral meds. Unfortunately, the dosage was too high and on an empty stomach it made him nauseous. From the night before I had some leftover crackers, so he was able to munch on those to help alleviate the discomfort.

Shortly after 10:00, the epidural officially came out. Justin feels ok. Most of his pain is either from his left leg or his right side drain tube (which might be coming out today too!).

Justin is also off the heparin drip. They are transitioning him to twice daily shots to manage his anticoagulation. And on that note, he has decided to have another thrombectomy before he is discharged from the hospital. Hoping this offers him significant relief.

The catheter is gone, too! Woo-hoo!
