Spine Chilling

Justin has been struggling the past three weeks with severe neck pain. It came and went, and came again. After the first instance, he visited an urgent care and was prescribed muscle relaxers, pain meds, and physical therapy. Although physical therapy was addressing symptoms, he was still experiencing acute episodes of untreatable pain.

Friday morning, he could no longer take the pain and visited a satellite emergency room. A CT was performed, which unfortunately indicated possible “distant” metastasis to his C3 vertebrae. He was denied by many hospitals as it is difficult to find a medical center with both an oncological neurosurgeon and bed availability.

BUT, even through the most desperate situations, God finds a way. We were referred to an unbelievable surgeon by a dear friend and are currently under his care. An MRI was done that better imaged the mass and to be honest, it’s pretty gnarly, but Justin and I have absolute faith he is in the best possible hands.

As of now, surgery is scheduled for Thursday.

Knowing he has the best team of prayer warriors, I request as many as you can send up!

More info to come.

Many blessings,

Christina

*** I understand many of you may already be aware of Justin’s current situation. He and I were waiting, keeping our lives private, until we were comfortable sharing and possessing answers … any answers. I am disappointed in those unwilling to respect the privacy of my family’s life and request that you please recognize *our* timeline and resist sharing information publicly before you find it here. ***
