Already some good news to share!!! It’s 8:30 and Justin has already been awake more than the past two days combined. He’s still sleepy, but definitely improving. Overnight Justin’s hemoglobin level dropped below 7 g/dL, which is the threshold for transfusion, so around 5:30 am they started him on one unit of blood. This was…

Day 2, the evening post
After the busy morning, today was largely uneventful. Justin was very drowsy. Very. Drowsy. I mean, it was painful to watch him try to open his eyes. He was so sleepy, the ICU team was becoming concerned, but labs were still coming back consistent and unremarkable. Even the latest set of results were good. This…

After a fairly restful night, Justin’s room has been abuzz this morning. His surgical team has been by twice and we got our first peek at the incision. As before, Justin’s heartrate has been slightly elevated and has been running a low-grade fever. Also, his urine output has been lower than ideal. I overheard the…

It is also likely they…

They haven’t given any details, nor have I asked, aside from he’s doing well and they’re “plugging away.” I can’t wait to see his sweet face and tell him I love him! I’ll update when I know more. Love, Christina Here’s a picture…

Justin’s team of highly skilled doctors and nurses took him back at 8:30 this morning. Simultaneously, all of his family and friends have been lifting him, us, and his doctors in prayer and thought… Thank you. And I cannot say that humbly enough. The outpouring of your support has been overwhelming. The details… surgery could…

Thank you for joining us! As mentioned in the FB post, Justin will be back in surgery April 16th. As much as we’ve dreaded this day, the time has come. Many of you have asked what this surgery will entail, so I’ll tell you what the surgeon has planned, understanding we won’t know for…
