I received a little more information from the nurse with the last update. They have been administering HIPEC (hyperthermal intraperitoneal chemotherapy) since 9:15. This treatment runs for 100 minutes. After that is complete, they will finish resectioning and reconstruct his abdomen. The doctor estimates being out of surgery around 1:30-2:00am.
It is also likely they will keep him intubated through the night, slowly waking him due to the staggering 17 hours in surgery. He will be in the ICU for several days.
I’m still very unsure of what the next days will look like, so please no visitors until we get a better handle on it.
