Oozing

Soooo… fun times at UC Health today. Oh yeah, we’re still here.

From OR lore, Justin’s IVC filter was placed all wonky in his vein so they had a difficult time sheathing and removing it. There were other stories of looking at the clot in his leg using contrast and this and that, blah-dee-blah, blah. Procedure time was about an hour and a half, yet they didn’t call me back for another 45 minutes. Anxiety!

Tuesday they gave us this well rehearsed story of how they couldn’t do the filter removal the same day as the port because they want Justin back on his anticoagulant… more blah blah blah. Which, by the way, was confirmed to be total corn. Ugh, I’m so annoyed!

Did I mention they were an hour and a half late taking him back?

😭

Moving on. Apparently because of his anticoagulant, Justin had a slow time clotting. Pressure in the OR, more oozing, pressure in recovery.

Do you ever feel like you can’t catch a break?

We’ll close with the good news… the filter is out and Justin is doing well. And now we’ll put UC in the rear view… at least for a week or two.

Happy Thursday, Christina
