Justin’s great success today, by far, was getting the breathing tube out. That being said, he no longer has recollection of having it and keeps telling me the NG tube is the worst part (the one down his nose). I’m sure it’s awful, but it could definitely be worse.
Justin’s pain level today was a solid 1. (On a scale 1-10, 10 being the worst) Such a blessing the epidural continues to offer near perfect pain management. This also keeps his systemic painkillers to zero. At this time, he is only receiving fluids! Not even on oxygen. Woot Woot!
Like last time, Justin is very sleepy. Although I think he’s doing significantly better, he seems to think he’s doing worse. My thought is, he’s more lucid this go around, especially since he’s not on any narcotics, he’s more aware of his grogginess. He told me he feels like he’s in “the nothing.” While I’m just glad he’s talking!

When opening one’s eyes is the hardest task of the day!
I’m expecting a quiet night. Justin is very stable and improving by the hour. Tomorrow will be first walkies and although he’s not looking forward to that, he recognizes it’s the quickest way out.
Thank you everyone for all your support! Justin asked earlier today who all has called and texted. He gets a little weepy knowing how much he is loved ❤️
More good things to come,
Christina
All good news Christina! Tell him Frank and I wish him a speedy recovery!
