It has been a minute or two, right? 2020 seemed to never end, yet here we are on the precipice of warmer weather in 2021.
Not a lot health-wise to report for Justin, which I always feel is a good thing. Through this (explicit) COVID disaster, Justin was able to maintain all his check-ups and scans with minimal frustration. The disease continues to be quite stable with only small signs of growth and remains localized to his peritoneal cavity. Some spots grow, but some shrink from scan-to-scan. A couple of times now we’ve watched suspect areas in his lungs only to see them decrease or disappear by the next appointment.
Justin was selected to participate in a clinical drug trial for a company based out of San Francisco. In early August we took the trip mostly to remind ourselves California just isn’t our place. However, after several months on the drug, Justin was still seeing disease progression and per FDA guidelines, was removed from the trial. We were all a little disappointed, but aren’t missing the weekly injections!

Justin has continued to work very consistently, mostly from home, but gets to the office on a regular basis.
The kids are in and out of school depending on “science,” currently out… but otherwise doing well.

I accepted a new position within the Boeing Company in Las Cruces, NM and we will be relocating there early this summer. After 20 years in Denver, we’ve decided it’s finally time for a new adventure. Not a lot of move details to share right now, as I’m feverishly transitioning out of my current role and into my new. No official start date has been set.
On a sad note, we lost Maddie in November. She was the best dang dog, I still cry when I see her pictures pop up on my phone.

But to anyone who knows me, knows the painful holes left in my heart are treated in the form of other dogs in need of a good home. Officially introducing…

Kylie or Ms. Jenner and Tucker, which was Mother Tucker, now more affectionately, Lucky Tucky. They’re a PITA, but we love them dearly. Even Chester. It was a little ambitious to get two puppers at once, even a good story behind it, nevertheless, they’re Yarbroughs now!

That’s it for now. I pray life has been kind to you and yours this past year. Please, please, please keep in touch.
My love and prayers,
Christina

Loved the update! Congratulations on the new job, although I hate knowing you won’t be in CO. I periodically travel to El Paso. I think it’s less than an hour from Las Cruces. We’ll stay in touch! 🙏
